Patient Rules
- Under
the law, as a registered cardholder, you may grow your marijuana for yourself,
or name a marijuana provider to grow it for you. You cannot do both.
- If
you want to grow your own medicine and you do
not own your own property, you will be required to submit a signed and
notarized permission slip from your landlord with your patient packet.
- Patients
who grow their own medicine are allowed to have 4 mature plants, (considered
any plant over 12 inches) and 12 seedlings.
- You
are allowed to possess up to one ounce of medicine at a time.
- Your
provider may only sell you up to one ounce of marijuana at a time.
- You
may only name one provider to
purchase medicine from.
- Your
provider can legally sell you medicine only after your registry card has been received.
- You
may change providers by submitting a Change Request Form to the state, signed and
submitted by your new provider. (There is no fee to change providers).
- You
may not take your medicine out of the state.

It
is illegal drive while under the influence of marijuana or use while driving.
(If you travel by car with your medicine, it is a good idea to keep it in the
trunk).
- You
may not use in any public spaces.
- You
may not divert your medicine to others.
- Keep
your registry card in your possession.
- Report
address changes to the department within 10 days.

Your card must be renewed annually, before the
expiration date, to remain in good standing. (We suggest making an appointment
for renewal 30-45 days before your card expires
